Frozen Lemonade – The Perfect Summertime Treat
This frozen lemonade recipe is a refreshing summertime treat. Tangy and sweet, the flavor will remind you of a frozen lemonade pie or your favorite frozen lemonade drink from Chick-fil-A.
Most frosted, frozen lemonade recipes use ice cream as a base. However, the secret here is sweetened condensed milk! We could drink this stuff straight out of the can (and my daughter has!)
While sweetened condensed milk is a staple in many southern desserts, it’s also great in drinks. I know some of my friends who use it in their coffee and homemade creamers. And — it goes great with just about any citrus drink you make — like this one.
Get your lips ready — it’s time to whip up this delicious frozen lemonade drink.
This is the perfect summertime treat -- tangy and tart with just a little bit of sweetness.
- 1 can lemonade frozen concentrate
- 1/2 can (7 ounces) sweetened condensed milk (or more or less to taste)
- 2-3 cups crushed ice
- grated lemon zest
- whipped cream
- milk to adjust the thickness of the drink
In a blender, combine lemonade concentrate, and enough ice to reach a creamy, thick frozen consistency.
Add sweetened condensed milk, to taste, and blend until incorporated. Use less for a tart drink and add more for a sweeter drink. If your drink is too thick, add a little milk until you get the consistency you are looking for.
Pour into a frosted glass and garnish with whipped cream and grated lemon zest.
